The Art Williams & Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School is Approved and Certified by the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Trinidad & Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA), Civil Aviation Safety Authority Suriname (CASAS) and Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority (JCAA). This School is a long standing member of the Flight Safety Foundation and the International Federation of Airworthiness, United States of America. The Art Williams & Harry Wendt Aeronautical Engineering School is the first tertiary institution in CARICOM to have a Quality Management System that is ISO 9001 Certified by the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS). Our School offers Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training which is done over a four and a quarter Ab-Initio Programme for acquisition of Licences in categories of Airframe, Piston Engines, Turbine Engines, Avionics including Electrics, Instruments, Compasses and Radios. Modular training is done for persons with over three year’s experience in Aviation. Students are trained in workshop practices and gain practical experience by exposure to Aircraft Maintenance in various hangar facilities at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport. Students are also exposed to other training such as: First Aid/Responder, Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting, Occupational Health & Safety Practices, Mass Casualty Incident Management, Airside Vehicle Operation/Control, Marshalling, etc. In 2018 the School celebrates Twenty-Five (25) years of serving the Aviation Sector in Guyana, the Caribbean and the world at large.
